Earthquake Poem

Rattle, rumble,
Quake and shake,
Tremble, tremor,
Scream earthquake!

Beneath the Earth,
Nothing waits,
Strikes and slips,
Tectonic plates…

Pushing, grinding,
Will it halt?
What will happen,
To the fault?

Epicenter all too near,
Magnitude so high, I fear.
Seismic force on the double,
Churning houses into rubble.

First responders,
So brave and quick,
Seeking survivors,
Beneath the brick.

Landslide, mudslide,
Rumbling on down,
Nowhere to hide,
It swallowed the town.

Rattle, rumble,
Quake and shake,
Tremble, tremor,
Scream earthquake!
